I've done a lot of thinking about this channel. My life as a determined, strong autistic who has learned many many life's lessons. I've decided to take on a new segment on this channel that will overtake my channel. I've decided to just be Real and talk about what I've learned as an autistic child now adult raising three autistic kids. It has been a journey and then some. So many have said to me how have you done it? people need to hear what you have to say. Recently I saw where 50% of people feel they have a book they could write about their life. I believe 100% do. As an ex-journalist, columnist, author, I believe everyone has a story worth telling that people want and need to hear. We can all learn from each other. Inside Out and Backwards is the beginning of the rest of this channel. I'm working on other projects that will tie into this project. My mom always used to say to me, "Ann, your shirt is inside out and backwards." That is the story of my life living as an autistic and also living as a person who is autistic that had a father die at age 11 and a great deal of life's hurts and struggles before I was an adult.
Autism kept my voice at bay for a great deal of my life, but compound that with death and trauma, I didn't find my voice until way into my adult years.
I've never gotten through life in a straight line, but the point is that I have gotten through it. with determination and made it a lot further than anyone thought I would. Do you want to know how I've done it? Just never giving up. Finding 5000 ways to do something until it works. Having a positive, do whatever it takes attitude. Never afraid of hard work. Push past the fears. Do it anyway. Any many other ways that I learned to get where I am. I have many tools in my toolbox. This channel is finally going to be what I intended it to be. Yes, it is about autism because I'm autistic and of course everything I've encountered in my life has been as an autistic, but anyone in life can benefit from this. We all have a story to tell. Here is the beginning of mine.
