Unfortunately, bullying has changed over the decades, for the worse. Last week, we had a public-school counselor discuss how the internet has changed bullying with our kids. This week, we continue the discussion. Bullying in our schools is rampant and it's deeply affecting the mental health of our children. We discuss seven ways we can help a child who is being bullied. Kids today are having a difficult time focusing on academics because of a fear of their peers. We also talk ways to actively teach our children with social stories and role playing. A kid's mental health affects every aspect of their life, so we need to make this a priority over everything.
This week's quotes:
"When little people are overwhelmed by big emotions, it's our job to share our calm and not to join their chaos." L.R. Knost.
"A child's mental health is more important that their grades." Unknown
