Calm and Balance in the Heart of a Tornado

Calm and Balance in the Heart of a Tornado

This week’s episode is a little different as Tina and Ann discuss the cycle of life–Life's ups and downs and the simplicities and complexities of merely existing.

Tina shares some of the most heartbreaking and simultaneous joyous times and a counselor’s reaction to her pain.  Listen as the pair dissect a painfully real situation, the role of a counselor and what happens when we take on that tough role of caregiver for our parents. Ann discusses how the complexities of relationships can add to a death and shares the death of her own adopted mother. They continue to talk about their thoughts on stages of grief and talk about a quote from the book, A Grace Disguised by Jerry Sittser, “There is no point in comparing loss because loss is loss.”

Ann shares the meaning of the tattoo she got after the death of her mom and states, “Life is a series of ups and downs and complexities and simplicities. And honestly, I want to choose the simple. Life is painful. That is a fact. But simplicity helps that pain. It brings back what life is all about and brings us to a life of closeness and beauty in the pain.

There is so much involved when it comes to the ups and downs of being in a family. Finding that balance between ourselves, our kids, and taking care of our parents can be very difficult but needed. Ann discusses how her life was changed in her recent trip to Tennessee.

Today’s quote:  You want a person in your life you can trust, when you can’t trust yourself.”

Chasing the Monster’s Away lyrics by James Blunt are mentioned.

A grace Disguised by Jerry Sittser  is talked about. "There is no point in comparing loss because loss is loss"

Lion King and Charlotte's Web is mentioned.
Housewives Franchise and Vanderpump Rules is mentioned.
